Our Founder, Mr. Raymond Daryll Pratt, started this company in 1998 with modest beginnings in his bedroom with the goal of making the DBS application process simple and quick for users and preventing needless trips to the post office.
Expansion of Services
In the year 2000, we implemented a significant technological upgrade by introducing computers and specially designed software systems into our operations. This move was aimed at modernizing our processes to keep pace with evolving industry standards and enhance overall efficiency.
Entered Europe
A £6.7 million joint venture between Making a Difference and PWC accounting was announced, marking a major milestone in the organization's growth strategy. This partnership provided crucial financial backing and expertise, significantly boosting Making a Difference’s ability to expand rapidly across Europe.

Since launching our first website officially in 2008, we have completed over a million DBS checks and grown to become the top-rated and authorised DBS checking business in the UK.
